Want to sell cupcakes? Open a store next a park. Want to sell a lot of cupcakes? Open a store next to the park where the moms hang out. Want to keep selling cupcakes? Make them unbelievably delicious.

Holding your ground on the Hoboken bakery front isn't a battle, it's a war. With the Old School well entrenched and numerous incursions by the corporate chains, Sweet (343 Garden St.) has found a defendable position near the southeast corner of Church Square Park. While the cupcakes may draw the kiddies in, it's the moms (and even a few dads) that are most often seen pressing their noses against the glass as they ask the gracious staff for "not that one, THAT one."

You might want to try one of their red velvet cupcakes, unless the pumpkin ones are in, of course the ganache looks good, ooooooh and the key lime bars, then there's the…
