Hoboken Mom’s Night Out Fundraiser Event

June 28, 2010 posted 593 days ago h Now Amanda Nitti

Hobokenites are all about giving back. When a Hoboken mother and cancer survivor proposed a fundraising event to the Clinton Social, they were thrilled to help. On June 23rd, The Clinton Social hosted the Hoboken Mom’s Night Out event to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). There was a $20 suggested donation cover charge for the LLS. The evening consisted of half price drinks and discounted appetizers, as well as an array of wonderful raffle prizes.

The mother who organized this event is a mother of 2 and a Non-Hodgkins survivor. She is training with a team for the NYC marathon to raise money for the LLS. So far, the team has raised over $420,000, and they are planning on achieving one million by this November. She raised over $1,100 at the Mom’s Night Out event in just a couple of hours. Thanks to a selection of Hoboken businesses who provided the raffle prizes, the evening was a tremendous success, and a total blast!

The raffle prizes were generously provided by five Hoboken businesses. The Creative Grove Studio donated a 10-week music or dance class session, and a 10-week painting class or intro to piano class. Club KO Kickboxing provided a one-month membership as well as a discounted babysitting service. Surya Yoga offered a Mom’s workout session certificate and a mom/baby work out session certificate. A certificate for a one-hour massage was given by the Imago Beauty Group. Musicology gift certificates were also raffled off, as well as gifts from The Clinton Social and The Madison.

LLS is the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education and patient services. In the past 56 years, they have awarded over $680 million in research funding. Every four minutes someone is diagnosed with blood cancer. It’s immeasurable how important this money is to blood cancer research and patient education. If you weren’t able to attend the event, you have an opportunity to truly help and donate online at:
