For the second year in a row, Macy’s 4th of July Firework display will take place above the Hudson River. The spectacular array of color and deafening sound can be anticipated in this 34th Annual Firework display on Sunday, July 4th, 2010 at 9pm. This is the nation’s largest display of fireworks. There are more than 3 million spectators, as well as millions of television viewers nationwide.
The theme of this year’s firepower is American Harmony, celebrating the unique musical voice of the nation. The score will feature some of America’s top vocal groups, as well as the The New York Pops Orchestra and the Morman Tabernacle Choir.
Macy’s will launch more than 40,000 pyrotechnic shells during the 26-minute display to honor America’s 234th birthday.
SIx barges will host the show on the Hudson in midtown Manhattan. The pyrotechnic display will fire approximately 1,500 shells per minute, reaching heights of more than 1,000 feet. Spectators anticipate phenomenal “front-row” views.
By tuning into NBC’s national broadcast of Macy’s 4th of July Firework Spectacular, viewers from coast-to-coast can get that “front-row” view.
In addition to the pyrotechnic display, Hoboken will also present a special 4th of July Festival along Frank Sinatra Drive, between First Street and approximately where Sinatra would intersect 7th Street. The Festival will run from noon until 10pm.
The Festival will host live music, artists, crafters, food vendors, rides, games and more!
