Are the changing seasons leaving you yearning for a little pick-me-up? Dying to do something creative, different and unique? Well, hMAG was approached by Yuko Hosie, a Hobokenite offering a new activity for fellow residents that just might do the trick.
Yuko offers a sushi art class in which she teaches people to create decorative sushi rolls. "It's becoming the most popular class and the people who attended were astonished by their ability to create a picture out of sushi," she said. "Also, 'Decorative Sushi Roll' is new in the US and so far I am the first one offering it on the East Coast."
Just by looking at the photos of some sushi roll art she's created, we're left hungry and awe-inspired that food could look... well, so darn cute. Yuko, who was born and raised in Japan, offers "everyday Japanese for you, family and friends" with traditional cooking classes as well. Learn to make sushi, gyoza (dumplings), miso soup and other tasty, healthy meals from Yuko, who wants to share Japanese culture with the Mile Square.
