Every holiday season, retail window displays become a point of attraction for passers-by interested in checking out the different decorations. Luxe Face & Body (158 1st Street) might just take the cake when it comes to window displays. Luxe’s windows are real talk pieces for the locals: “They often ask when the next one will be up and for a hint as to what it’s going to be. I’ve had designers come in to ask who designed for me and if they could buy the decorations… it’s pretty cool,” announced owner, Megan Dill Carnahan.
Luxe’s 2009 holiday window was especially impressive. With a green recycling theme (like most of their windows), the display cost no more than $15. Interior designer, Jacqueline Dill (also sister-in-law to owner), used her craftiness to create a black and white wreath made of newspaper and plywood over a period of three months. With the addition of white strand lights, the wreath took on a modern and stylish feel.
The modern apothecary beauty boutique is keeping their lips sealed about their 2010 holiday display but one thing is certain: Luxe never disappoints. For more information: 201-222-2472.
