I try to portray, as best I can, every job I’m given – especially when it comes to hMAG. Photos in this case just weren’t enough.
Before a Nikon became my best friend, I was a student at Arizona State University and worked at Gus’s Pizzeria to help put myself through school. I learned how to flip a pie in 30 seconds or less; I also discovered the immense amount of integrity that goes into the trade.
It wasn’t until I visited Filippo’s on First (267 First Street) that I rediscovered that type of pride and love. My worries disappeared as quickly as my chicken parm slice during conversations with owner Anthony Salvatore about the importance of quality cheese and sauce.
Then, I locked eyes with a dish of mussels marinara, which I proceeded to demolish. As I tried to escape, I was handed a to-go box just to remind me of how simple, yet memorable, a quality pizza experience can be. And it’s few and far between these days. Go to www.filipposonfirst.com for more info.
