Sunday, March 20th is the first official day of Spring!
I think it's safe to say we can all officially say goodbye to frost, freezing temps, heavy clothes and (best of all) snow! Go ahead, you can take off that enormous puffer jacket and toss those mittens in the closet until next year. With the sun shining, flowers blooming, and official start to the Spring season, we here at hMAG took some time out to appreciate Hoboken in spring. Here's what the team had to say:
1) What about Spring are you most looking forward to?
"Enjoying our new roof deck and eating lunch outside." - Simon Dabkowski, Web Director
"Riding my longboard to work then chillin' with the hMAG team on our deck... after work, hitting the park(s) with my kids." - Kevin Cale, Chief Creative Officer
"Getting together with friends & neighbors who've been hibernating all winter." - Sharon Henry, Editor
"I'm most looking forward to the earth coming alive again; flowers, sunshine, warmth. Especially the smell of fresh-cut grass." - Brittney Hanlon, Designer
"Outdoor seating." - Joe Mindak, Publisher
"Spring clothes, warm weather, and finally getting some sort of tan!" - Melissa Melms, Managing Director
"Not having to wear gloves, a scarf and a winter jacket every day on my walk to the PATH." - Kelly Rainey, Superstar Contributor
"I look forward to opening my windows... until the car horns drive me to the edge of madness." - Chris Halleron, Contributing Editor
"Two words: Sun Dresses." - Anthony Herenda, Motion Graphics - Cut of the Jib
2) What is your favorite thing to do in Hoboken during Spring?
"Taking [my dog] Peanut to the dog park and running on Sinatra drive." - Simon Dabkowski, Web Director
"Sit outside at Zafra drinking sangria!" - Kevin Cale, Chief Creative Officer
"Hanging out with friends and neighbors in my backyard - or on hMAG's roof deck!" - Sharon Henry, Editor
"It's my first true Spring in Hoboken. I'm looking forward to sitting outside (with my forever faithful margarita) and seeing all the different kinds of people that live and work here." - Brittney Hanlon, Designer
"Drinking at outdoor seating!" - Joe Mindak, Publisher
"Getting frozen yogurt (chocolate with chocolate sprinkles and strawberries from Koa Koa!) and walking up and down Washington Street. And of course hanging out on the Dubliner roof" - Melissa Melms, Managing Director
"Playing softball and kickball on Mama Johnson Field." - Kelly Rainey, Superstar Contributor
"My favorite thing about Hoboken in the Spring is going back to the playground, seeing whose kid turned into a real brat over the winter, and then wondering if my kid can kick that kid's arse." - Chris Halleron, Contributing Editor
