Who is Elise Glaser? "Only the best waitress in town at McSwiggans Pub!"
Okay, so Elise has been working at McSwiggans for over a year, but she's got more than that on her plate. "I balance a 9-5 in the City as an associate producer in post-production and launched my own jewelry line just last week!"
Although she lives in Downtown Jersey City, Elise spends a great deal of time in the Mile Square working and as a "frequent partaker in the nightlife."
Hoboken can get out of hand when it comes to working at a bar, but that is always expected, Elise shares, emphasizing that there is never a dull moment. "But we are like family at Mcswiggans and that's priceless."
Besides McSwiggans, Elise is a frequent visitor of DC's‚ as well. "It's a little punk rock bar but the bartenders are GREAT and if you love some old school punk rock you will be in heaven!" As for her other favorite spot in town? "Symposia Bookstore! I picked up a 1954 copy of The Stranger by Albert Camus 2 years ago and have read it 3 times already!"
From working and hanging out in Hoboken, Elise has gained an appreciation for the town. "Life in Hoboken is fun and has broadened my horizons to living a city-like lifestyle. Take a walk on the water, see a movie on the pier, ride your bike on the main strip and take your dog to the dog park. If you sit back, you can see the opportunities this town has to offer."
When not in Hoboken or Jersey City, Elise spends her week working in NYC at a post-production studio."I have a lot of fun working on different kind of shoots ranging from music videos, commercials, interviews and more!" Elise has even had the chance to work with "celebrity-status talents" including John Mayer and Law & Order SVU's Chris Meloni.
"Being in the City is tiring, but at night I like to get my hands a little dirty with crafting," Josie explained how her third title of "jewelry designer" came to be. "I recently launched my jewelry line, Josie. I was struggling with a name but my favorite childhood punk rock song, "Josie" by Blink 182 came on and I thought it was a perfect name!"
Elise has had a knack for craft-making since her middle and high school days of working at summer camps and especially the wood shop class she took through high school and college. "Although the course was for furniture making, which is dealing with crafting on a larger scale, I still learned the dynamics behind metal and wood working. Fast-forward a bit, and Elise is now making and selling her own jewelry consisting of mainly "handmade feather earrings, leather and feather headwraps, and wire wrapped rings. I have the supplies imported from China or shipped from farms all over the country. I am going to start building terrariums in bottles and lightbulbs also this summer."
Does Elise's jewelry sound familiar to you? That's because "Josie" was featured on the television show Jerseylicious! "Working in fashion for 4 years and now working in the media industry in NYC, you see what's in and what's hot."
Obviously, Elise has the talent, eye, and entrepreneurship needed for launching her own line. "This is a very exciting moment in my life and I would like to see where I can go."
