Is your strudel the shiz? Brownies the bomb? Cookies the coolest? Put your baked good where your mouth is at Vicious & Virtuous part deux
On April 30th, 2011 from 1 to 4pm, at Rogo's Bar in Hoboken, NJ, 20 bakers will feed a congregation of hungry guests and an exalted panel of judges at this boisterous, delectable, extraordinary shindig to benefit Autism Speaks.
Winners will be selected in the following categories: Most Creative, Best Presentation, Most Unique Ingredients, Sexiest Baker - and Best In Show, which will be voted on by both the judges and the guests! We still have room for competitors!!
HOW TO ENTER
Shoot us an email with the following information:
1. Your Baking Name
(are you a Kupcake Kelly? Maybe an Evil E-Claire, or perhaps you are simply the King or Queen of Cookies.)
2. The Name of Your Entry
(again, be creative. You want folks to visit your booth and vote for your goodies). Know you want to enter to bake but aren't sure what you want to make yet? That's okay! Sign up and in the space for what you will be bringing just put down "Unsure".
3. Contact Information
This should be your email address and at least one phone number we can reach you at.
4. The deadline to submit the name of your baked good is April 12th, 2010.
We highly recommend bringing along an assistant on the day of the bake off beat down. You will need to staff your booth for the duration of the event (1 to 4 p.m.) and serve up your goodies. We don't want you serving and doing the pee-pee dance (though we all know to go potty BEFORE the party starts don't we?).
How much to bring?
The more you make, the more bites you can distribute to the guests and the better chance you have of winning the guest popularity contest. We are anticipating about 200 guests.
The official judges will be talking and tasting before the event is open to the public.
Once the guests arrive, we hope you will do your best to help us show everyone a good time by being enthusiastic about your goods. You can wear a costume, you can bring a dancing assistant. Anything goes. It’s not about playing fair this time. It's about a good cause and raising money for charity!
And remember: the more guests you invite, the better chance you have of swaying the vote! And the audience vote can be swayed by effective campaigning.
How much are tickets for non-baker guests?
For a $20 donation, guests will gain access to all the treats and one ballot. Additional ballots will be on sale for $1 each. 100% of proceeds will go directly to Autism Speaks.
