It's days like yesterday that remind you of what a great town Hoboken is. A large crowd gathered on the corner of 10th and Washington to honor John Muller by naming the street after him. John is the Grandfather of Erika and Roger Muller who currently run Muller Insurance company as a brother and sister team. Their Grandfather started Muller Insurance way back in 1906 and it's been passed down from generation to generation. Their grandfather was heavily involved in the community serving in the Rotary, Lions Club, Elks Club and more. This passion has been continued though to each generation and Roger and Erika are still heavily involved in the town.
John's son took over in 1952 when he passed away. He reopened the store as R. John Muller and continued moving forward with the vision that his Father had started. He immediately secured his Real Estate license and took on the responsibility of running the family business at the young age of 24. R. John Muller is now semi-retired but he and his wife Hetty continue to work in the business handling all of the bookkeeping and major business decisions.
Mayor Dawn Zimmer, newly reelected councilman Beth Mason and Peter Cunnigham, as well as the ever present Anthony Ramano all joined in the special ceremony. Mayor Zimmer exclaimed, "It is companies like Muller Insurance that make Hoboken a great place." Serving the community for over 106 years certainly is a huge success. I'm sure John Muller was looking down yesterday and proud to see that his company is still thriving and his grandkids are continuing to serve the community.
