From 7am-11am you all know Natalie Morales as a Co-Anchor on The Today Show, seen by millions of people everyday. After Natalie leaves her office and returns home, she is another Hoboken mom who resides in our Mile Square City. Since 2002, Natalie has called Hoboken home. On any given day you likely see her out and about. You may have passed her while she is running her 15 miles a week alongside Sinatra Drive or maybe you've bumped in to her at the Shop Rite, perhaps you've seen her with her kids in Elysian Park? I asked Natalie how people react when they meet her for the first time. "Very casual! People who know I live in Hoboken know me mostly as Josh and Luke's mom because that's who I am first. They usually see me running along Sinatra Drive, at Elysian Park with my kids or at Shop Rite, so I'm very casual and usually pretty unrecognizable."
Juggling her career with her mommy duties, Natalie is also an honorary VP with the MDA in addition to being very involved with the Jubilee Center here in town and a board member of Back on My Feet which helps the homeless.
Natalie is currently training in Hoboken for an upcoming triathlon. Aside from running 15 miles a week here in Hoboken, she is at the gym every day cycling, spinning and swimming to prepare. After the workout Natalie enjoys shopping locally. When I asked her where she likes to shop she told me "I visit Galatea, Lucy's, Pepper, Homeslice and Viola Vita the most." Natalie also enjoys eating locally too. "Bin 14 and The Dining Room, both Anthony Pino restaurants are some of my favorites" said Natalie.
Natalie is also a lover of fashion. Her appreciation for fashion runs from casual to ultra designer. Some of her favorite designers are Prada, Christian Louboutin, Nanette Lepore, J. Crew and Theory. On air, Natalie likes to wear something different all the time. "I like to mix it up, I try not to wear the same thing repeatedly," says Natalie.
At home, Natalie enjoys spending time with her husband and their 2 children. Their family also has 2 cats, Lexy and Emma. The uptown Hobokenite is very involved with her community as well. During every Halloween, her home is always decorated with lots of pumpkins, ghouls and goblins. Natalie often speaks at local events and is always happy to say hello to someone new.
Natalie tells me she is so excited to come back to Hoboken every day and transform from a journalist that has interviewed the best actors and actresses and most famous politicians to cooking dinner for her children and running errands. I am happy to have Natalie as a neighbor and as my friend!
