From the bars and nightclubs to the parks and piers, there is no doubt that many would describe life in Hoboken as nothing less than eventful, and for Media Larezzo, eventful is the perfect word to describe her busy life here in Hoboken.
Born in Iran, her family moved to the States when Media was just four years old. She grew up in Woodbridge, New Jersey and later attended Rutgers University. When asked what she misses most about Rutgers, she laughed and replied (you guessed it!): “Parties!” While Rutgers may be known for its buzzing nightlife, Media certainly loves everything that Hoboken has to offer. She enjoys going to Hoboken’s many bars at night, her favorite being the upscale bar and lounge at the W Hotel.
Media moved to Hoboken six years ago to be with her fiancé whom she has now been happily married to for five years. She describes herself as “busy, energetic, and stressed” which isn’t too surprising for a hardworking young Hobokenite. This spirited young lady enjoys staying active, and loves to ski in her free time, preferably on the West Coast; “Colorado is my favorite” she says. More locally, she is a member of Hoboken’s Club H where she likes to workout and take fitness classes. Once she’s hit the gym her day has begun and she heads off to work at Rahway Hospital where she is a Cardiovascular Technician. Media has been in the field for ten years and her favorite part about her job is interacting with people. However, when asked what the hardest part about her job is, she laughs, “Honestly, interacting with people!” It’s easy to see that she certainly has her hands full.
After a busy day at work, she loves to come home to Hoboken and spend time with her husband. They both enjoy going out to dinner and trying out new places in the Mile Square city, so when asked her favorite, she immediately replies, “Wow...there’s a lot!” However, if she had to choose her favorite restaurant it would be Lola’s Tapas-Wine Bar located on 14th street because of its “amazing food and lots of variety.”
Although there never is a dull moment in Hoboken, Media expresses that she would like to see more shopping offered in town, and “a few less dry cleaners… there’s one on every corner!” she laughs. In a few years, she plans to move out of Hoboken and into a house where she and her husband can start a family.
