St. Ann’s Church has a rich history dating back to 1900 when immigrants from Monte San Giacomo, Italy, arrived in Hoboken. Wanting to keep the traditions from their homeland alive, the San Giacomese established the St. Ann’s Society, and in 1906 officially opened their church. The church opening inspired the Society to start a yearly celebration, or “festa”, to honor St. Ann and strengthen their tradition.
The St. Ann’s tradition is carried on to this day, with the St. Ann’s Feast starting this year on Thursday, Juy 21, and running through Tuesday, July 26. This year the Feast will feature live music from Cristina Fontanelli, Carol Douglas, The Tramms and many more. Take part in games, rides and raffles while enjoying food, music and everyone’s favorite beer tent.
