Alexandra Angelo

Whether Hoboken is a permanent home or a temporary residence, the town has something to offer all of it’s residents during their stay, no matter how long or short that may be. Alexandra Angelo may only be staying in Hoboken temporarily, but this recent college graduate has truly come to enjoy, as she calls it, “the cute little city-town.”

Originally from Berkeley Heights, New Jersey, Alexandra’s parents moved to Hoboken last May, bringing her to the Mile Square City after recently graduating from Temple University in Philadelphia with a degree in History and Italian. Her favorite thing about Temple University is “the fact that it is a large school in a big city.” Coming from small-town suburbia, Alexandra exclaims, “I was ready to get out!” She also adds that she likes living in Hoboken better than the small town in which she grew up, and is really enjoying living here for now, although she plans to move back to Philadelphia in the near future.

Alexandra describes her life in Hoboken as relaxed, and her favorite pastime is coming to the park. She loves art and can often be found sitting on a park bench near the Pier, drawing in her notebook and people watching. She also likes to go to the many eateries that Hoboken has, and her favorite place to eat in town is Lisa’s Deli on Park Avenue because they have what she refers to as “the best food ever, and really good tiramisu.” Aside from relaxing in the park, Alexandra also loves music and enjoys going to concerts frequently in her free time.

In the future, she plans to move back to Philadelphia where most of her friends currently live, and get a job, ideally working for a non-profit organization. This history buff enjoys traveling and thinks it would be fascinating to travel to and see all of the World War II battle sites. She even says “I really would love to get a job where I can travel. I want to go everywhere!” Last spring, she studied abroad in Italy for a semester and describes the experience by simply stating, “It was amazing.” Although Hoboken might just be a temporary stop along the way, Alexandra has very much enjoyed the atmosphere and all that the town has to offer.
