hMAG kicked off New Music week on Sunday with their spectacular Music Festival featuring nine of the hottest new music bands around. Now starting today, October 18th through the 22nd is College Music Journal’s CMJ Music Marathon Festival 2011, one the world’s most important platforms for new artists to showcase their music.
The Festival runs for five non-stop days and nights and showcases over 1,300 artists all over the NYC area in over 80 venues.
Maxwell’s, one of the most important and influential new music clubs around, will play host on Wednesday at 8PM to a CMJ Showcase featuring some of the hottest new bands on the scene.
The headliner of the Maxwell’s CMJ Showcase is Engine Room Recording Artist Canon Logic, a ‘harmony-driven indie rock band supported by percussive beats and unrelenting energy’, as described by Hoboken’s own Mike Mignano, Canon Logic’s Manager. The band has achieved growing popularity since their inception in 2008, supporting acts such as the Lemonheads and Oh Land and touring up and down the East Coast. Their songs stretched even further, landing placements on CSI:NY, internet ad campaigns and on Hollister Co & Stores playlists nationwide.
Also playing in the CMJ Showcase that night are Lights Resolve, an innovative hard-rocking trio from Long Island, NY. Lights Resolve has toured extensively and played with multi-platinum recording artists such as Panic at the Disco and Dashboard Confessional. Also on the bill are Soft Reeds, Capybara, and CPHARRIK, the Jersey City based spoken word artist, who will kick off the evening.
So If the HMag Music Fest got you itching for some more rockin’ new music, then come on down to Maxwell’s on Wednesday night for a great lineup of some incredible bands!
