El Barrio Burritos

October 3, 2011 posted 230 days ago Raves Joe Mindak

Vive El Mexico! It's not surprising if you haven't yet stepped into El Barrio Burritos. Probably one of the smallest stores I've been to in Hoboken - let alone anywhere - it's not hard to miss and you've most likely walked past it a million times. So, next time you walk past Carlo's Bakery, ignore all of that Cake Boss craziness and pay attention. Only a couple doors down, this little store makes huge burritos. (And when you're 230 lbs that's good news.) Beef, chicken, shrimp, veggie or Rasta(Jamaican jerk chicken) they have it all. I recommend trying Bernita's special.

Now here's the catch: It's healthy! Delicious and healthy. Who knew those words could be associated with Mexican food (no thanks to Taco Bell)? They use no lard, MSG or preservatives. Everything is fresh and made to order. If you're hunkering for some healthy Mexican (food that is) stop by 89 Washington Street and enjoy!
