Open for just over six months but with a legendary taste! After hearing about a homemade apple strudel, I made it my mission to get over to 332 Washington St. and check out the buzz for myself. It was meant to be; I got the last one! The strudel was sweet, flaky, fruity, and every bit delicious– you can truly taste the tradition.
As I sat enjoying this fantastic strudel, a group of five came in, took one look at the display and said, “There are no cookies here,” and left. I wanted to call out, “Come back! You don’t need cookies! There are danishes, croissants, tomato and pepper strudels, pear and chocolate German bars, and way more!”
Once I got to talking with an employee, she urged me to return, “All of the pastries are very good, but you must try the coffees and cappuccinos!” The Old German Bakery definitely speaks my language, and I’ll be back!
