DKM glams up the ladies

November 13, 2011 posted 189 days ago h Now Jessica Rosero

Before you hit the town with your posse, start things off right by glamming it up at Dina’s Kiss & Makeup, 57 Newark St. This cozy boutique tucked within the hustle and bustle of Newark Street recently opened its doors to the girls of hMAG, and gave us a taste of what they have to offer.

From makeup instruction to the walls of accessories, and airbrush tanning for that instant summer glow, owner and pro-makeup artist Dina Racciatti offers customized makeup for women on the go.

“My goal is to make the whole cosmetic experience personalized,” said Dina.

Whether you need a consultation or a quick makeover for a night out, Dina is ready to make you look your very best. The boutique’s makeup line, which is personally approved by Dina, is made up of products from all over the world including California, Florida, New York and Asia.

“If I don’t like something it does not go in my line,” said Dina. “I’m honest with people. I’ll tell you this works for you or this doesn’t work for you. Your options are open and it’s tailored to what you want.”

Prices on products range, but Dina’s Kiss & Makeup offers more affordable lines than department store cosmetic counters and more quality than everyday drug store brands. Customized foundations sell for about $19, lipsticks $13, and a wide selection of cosmetic brushes and kits can range from $20 to $100.

All the accessories come from Pink Jewels in Livingston, and designer Stevie Boi shades are also for sale at the store. Stevie Boi shades have recently been featured in Vogue.

Dina offers free makeup classes once a month – lessons are booked - but customers may come in and try the products anytime with a quick consult. This Wednesday, Nov. 16, Dina will host a ‘Girls Night Out’ event starting at noon at the boutique. So come out for a little well-deserved pampering ladies!
