If you are a die-hard fan of hMAG (and we hope you are!) then it should be no surprise that this is our third anniversary issue. Good things happen in threes, says the sage. We hope to continue to delight you with interesting stories, thrill you at our Mixers, and impress you with our photography.
We also have some new things planned for our lay out and to entertain you, dear readers! In this issue, notice our new artist corner about photographer Roslyn Rose. Rose is phenomenal artist whose latest work captures Hoboken in a dramatic new light. This section will encompass all the arts. Every issue, we will spotlight a different local artist, including photographers, writers, or musicians.
While the visuals are changing, we are keeping the stories! We will continue to expand your view on Historic Hoboken and locals who are doing something great. This issue is no exception. Since it is the season of giving, we took a look at some of the people who embody that sentiment. For 30 plus years, the Hoboken Shelter has continued to support, sustain, and help locals in need. We applaud all that they do. We hope their mission inspires you this holiday season to remember those less fortunate. It’s not the gifts that people remember, it’s the bond shared.
Here at hMAG, we understand the power of a true story. There is perhaps no better example of that then the amazing story of Danny Gans. Writer Christopher Halleron spoke to Mr. Gans about his father’s journey to free his grandparents. This is a story that will stay with you.
As the year winds down, we look forward to the future. We hope your new year is a spectacular finish to the holiday season. Enjoy all it has to offer!
So bring us your quirky, your fabulous, or just plain fun. We want to hear from you. We thank you and invite you along on our journey.
Enthusiastically yours,
Diana Schwaeble – Editor
