BLACK & WHITE MASKED BALL: Hoboken Historical Museum Gala / Benefit Auction — SATURDAY, MAY 6th

In homage to its black-and-white photography exhibit from the 1980s, the Hoboken Historical Museum is hosting a special Black & White Masked Ball and Auction on Saturday, May 6!  Proceeds will support the Museum’s exhibitions, education programs, and collections campaign.

This year, the event will be hosted at a new venue, David E. Rue Building, 301 Garden St., with a special Honorary Chair, Marci Rubin of News 12 New Jersey. Details and tickets are available at bit.ly/HobokenMaskedBall or by calling 201-656-2240.

At this glamorous event, guests will enjoy a delicious buffet dinner from AD Catering, an open bar, and an evening of dancing with a live DJ. The centerpiece of the evening will be the popular Live Auction, featuring coveted, only-in-Hoboken experiences, including:

  • A summer pass to the Shipyard pool
  • Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade uptown viewing stand seats
  • A year of indoor parking in uptown Hoboken
  • An early fall dinner for a party of 10 from chef Pino, with wine pairing from Bin 14

Get into the Black & White Photo Contest – Win a ticket!

The Museum invites the wider Hoboken community to get into the spirit of the gala and exhibition with a black-and-white photo contest. To enter the contest, simply snap a current image of Hoboken in black and white, and post it to Instagram, Facebook or Twitter, tagging @HobokenMuseum and using #HobokenMakesHistory. Each Thursday until May 4, the Gala Host Committee will choose a weekly winner of a pair of tickets to the gala. Everyone has three chances to win, enter as often as you like between April 17 and May 5. Original photos only, subject matter must include Hoboken. Each week’s winner will be contacted via social media, and the winning photographs will be added to the Museum’s website.

Expanded Silent Auction

An expanded silent auction this year will include dozens of tempting packages, artworks, and gift certificates for local businesses, including tickets to a Broadway show and a Hoboken Memorial Day Parade ride on a fire truck for kids. About the Hoboken Historical Museum
Founded 1986, the Museum’s mission is to educate the public about Hoboken’s history, diverse culture, architecture and historic landmarks. In 2001, the Museum moved into one of the oldest buildings on the waterfront, in the former Bethlehem Steel shipyard, at 1301 Hudson St., Hoboken, where it maintains a series of rotating exhibits. The Museum is open six days a week, 2 – 7 pm on Tues. – Thurs., 1 – 5 pm on Fridays, and noon – 5 pm on weekends. It offers special exhibits, tours, events and lectures, as well as educational programs for adults and children on a weekly basis.
