JIMMY GONE’S: Sandwich Franchise Closes Up Shop in Hoboken

Jimmy John’s Hoboken location is seemingly no more.

The nationally franchised sandwich shop had been holding down the spot at 96 Hudson Street (corner of 1st), but it’s now vacant. The storefront is covered in brown paper and a dusty silhouette is all that remains of the logo… although they didn’t bother to clean up the cup on the corner (pictured above).

No word on what prompted the sudden closure. There’s a Jersey Mike’s opening up the block in the very new future… not to mention the storied history of this city’s incredible family-owned and operated delis, which have served nothing but the finest meats and cheeses to the greater Hoboken community for generations.

Sure, we had a sweet spot for Blimpie, because it was B n’ R. And it’s always disappointing to see a business close.

But we should make it through the departure of Jimmy John’s just fine. In the meantime, #ShopLocal.
