RAVE: Frankie & Ava’s

RAVE: Frankie & Ava’s

by Joe Mindak

What’s in a name?

In the case of Frankie & Ava’s, it might just be some Roast Beef, Turkey or Prosciutto. The newest Italian Eatery to open in Hoboken is happy to pay homage to many locals that inhabit the mile square. When Frank & Jill DiGiacomo, longtime Hoboken residents, decided to open up shop, it was only appropriate to name their new restaurant after their kids, Frankie Jr, & Ava.

Taking it one step further then simply naming the restaurant they decided what better way to honor their other friends and family by naming the menu after them. Stop by and taste the Avoletta, the Zarillo, the Gallucci or the Gardillo specialty sandwiches. They even named some after their non-Italian friends such as the Bmaye, the Viken or the Ramos.

Aside from the great sandwiches, wraps and paninis they also serve up pizza, pasta and even have a children’s menu for the little ones. If you’re throwing your next party, check out the catering menu as well.

You can find the entire menu at frankieandavas.com, or stop by 208 Washington Street.

You might want to try the Mindak while you’re there. I hear it’s heavenly…
