Skanatra Plays Live at Hoboken’s Sinatra Park — THURSDAY @ 7:00

Unless you’ve seen them before, you might have a tough time wrapping your head around it. But it really is as simple as it sounds—songs made famous by Sinatra, set to a Ska beat

It’s like “Sinatra at the Sands,” only the Count Basie Orchestra is too hungover so The Specials are filling in for the night.

As Hoboken continues to celebrate Frank’s upcoming centennial birthday, the boys from Skanatra will reunite for a show at Sinatra Park this Thursday at 7:00.

Formed in 1999, Skanatra have proven themselves to be truly adept at taking Sinatra tunes that proverbial “one step beyond.” More than just a rambunctious ska beat, each tune is expertly arranged to ensure that it actually works—all of which leads to enthusiastic live performances from this legendary Hoboken ensemble. Their impressive sampling from the Sinatra songbook maintains plenty of due respect to the man who made these songs famous, while playfully injecting their own bit of madness.

Sinatra fans, ska fans, music fans, Hoboken fans—this is a can’t-miss performance in an amazing setting.

Plus comedian Jim Dodge—a Hoboken institution in his own right—will be on hand to set the stage for a tremendous night.
