UPTOWN TRAFF*@% — Park Avenue Bridge Rehab To Begin July 5

UPTOWN TRAFF*@% — Park Avenue Bridge Rehab To Begin July 5

Infrastructure is so HOT right now…

Starting July 5, the Park Avenue bridge between Hoboken and Weehawken will begin its rehabilitation project—meaning that the ONLY NORTHBOUND route out of Hoboken will be via the Willow Avenue Bridge.

Throughout the rehabilitation, one side of the Park Avenue Bridge will remain open to allow one lane of traffic flowing SOUTHBOUND ONLY while the other side of the bridge is under construction.

All construction work will be conducted in daytime, six days per week, from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.

In a statement released this afternoon, the City of Hoboken advises that, “Drivers should plan for significant traffic delays, consider alternate routes, adjust work hours or telecommute if possible, use public transportation, and provide extra travel time.

So to recap—the Park Ave. Bridge gets you into Hoboken, but you can’t get out that way.  The Willow Ave. Bridge gets you in AND out, but it’ll be twice as congested.

According to the Hudson County Roads Department, who is spearheading the project, the rehab project has an anticipated completion date of September 13th, 2016.
